The light weight and fine appearance of this Shimano reel does not detract from its power and durability. You can use this reel for fresh water or saltwater angling.

Many professional anglers regard the Shimano Sustain FE as a top performing reel that can withstand the demands of constant use. What characterizes the reel more than anything else is its silky smoothness. Weight of reel is kept to a minimum using a machined aluminum body and spool while the side plates and rotor are made from graphite. A titanium coating on the lip of the spool reduces friction. Together with the Propulsion Spool Lip design you get amazing casting. The line floats off the reel with ease on every cast. The special coating also protects the spool lip from nicks and scratches. The Paladin gear system has been enhanced to provide greater durability in this model. A stack of features are packed in to the Sustain FE including water protected A-RB bearings, machined aluminum handle, Power Roller III, redesigned bail trip mechanism, and S-Arm cam.
