Yin Yang & Aromatherapy - Using essential oils of lavender and mint in the home

They are composed of natural chemicals that work in synergy with others. Unlike prescription drugs, the healing properties of essential oils dates back thousands of years.

Two of the essential oils more are versatile lavender and mint. Think of these two oils such as yin and yang. Lavender is warm and relaxing, while the mind is fresh and invigorating.

Each morning, a mixture of eight to ten drops of peppermint essential oil to a burner fragrance full of water to help wake you up. Peppermint is also useful for fighting boredom afternoon and has a natural cooling effect. Put a drop or two on a cotton ball, close your eyes and breathe deeply. If you are prone to headaches, mixing one-eighth cup carrier oil such as sweet almond or olive oil to 12 drops of peppermint and massage your temples, neck and forehead.

At night, add nine drops of lavender in the bath, turning off lights and take several deep breaths to relax. Try a few drops directly on your pillowcase or a cotton ball, if you have a hard time sleeping. Lavender can help balance your emotions, relieve stress and help lower blood pressure. It is beneficial for the skin and can be used to stains, scratches, burns and rashes. Add a drop or two of a wet cotton ball and apply to affected area.

One of the simplest ways to use lavender or mint is to make your own body lotion. Buy a high quality cream, unscented and add thirty to forty drops of oil or a combination of the two oils.

Essential oils are naturally antibacterial and antiviral properties and are effective in treating colds and flu. Fill a bowl with water, heat gently, then add a few drops of lavender and mint. Place a towel over your head, close your eyes and breathe. When the water cools, takes a towel and use as a compress to cover his forehead. This helps to relieve headaches and sinus pressure.
